Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect personal data, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are
Litigation Resolutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We purchase business debts from insolvency practitioners and manage repayment arrangements on the debts we own.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to enquiries@uklitigation.co.uk.
2. Personal data we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, organisation and the content of your message when you contact us through this website or by email.
- Debts we purchase: details of company directors and other individuals connected with a debt, received from insolvency practitioners on assignment — such as names, contact details, correspondence and information about the debt.
- Repayment plans: information needed to set up and manage a payment arrangement, including bank details processed by our direct debit provider, and payment history.
- Website use: limited technical data such as IP address and browser type, used to keep the site secure and working.
3. How and why we use it
We only use personal data where we have a lawful basis under UK GDPR:
- Contract — to agree and administer a repayment plan with you.
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, manage and recover debts we own, and protect our legal rights.
- Legal obligation — to meet our accounting, tax, anti-money-laundering and other legal duties.
We do not sell personal data or use it for marketing without your consent.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- insolvency practitioners involved in the original case;
- our direct debit and payment providers, and our bank;
- professional advisers such as solicitors and accountants;
- IT, hosting and email service providers acting on our instructions;
- courts, regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it.
Where any provider processes data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Records relating to a debt or repayment plan are generally kept for six years after the debt is settled or closed, in line with UK limitation periods and accounting requirements. General enquiries that do not lead to further dealings are usually deleted within two years.
6. Keeping it secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, and limit access to those who need it.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete data or restrict how we use it, in certain circumstances;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@uklitigation.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
8. Cookies
This website uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
